The Hopewell Valley Lacrosse (HVL) Little Laxers program is an introductory program offered in Hopewell for beginner lacrosse players, both boys and girls, in grades K-2. The program offers an introduction to the sport in a relaxed environment with a focus on basic skill development. Our purpose is to show beginners the fun of the game while learning the fundamentals, and it serves as a feeder program for Hopewell Valley Lacrosse that starts in 3rd grade.
The program will be held over the course of 6 weeks (on Sunday afternoons) this spring - from Sunday, April 28 to Sunday, June 9, 2019 (no session on Memorial Day weekend).
This year we are taking advantage of our great partnership with Centercourt in Lawrence and all sessions will be held there (except June 9, featuring water balloons and Rita’s, which will be held at Toll Gate). The sessions will be one hour long, from 3-4p.
Centercourt is located at 1080 Spruce Street, Lawrence Township, NJ 08648.
We are thrilled to have our returning coaches Courtney (girl’s) and Kyle (boy’s) Higgins and we will also be taking advantage of Centercourt’s coaching expertise as well to give your kids the best possible experience.
The total cost of the 6 week program is $130. Membership in US Lacrosse is required of all players, which is an additional $30 that can be purchased during the program application process. Registration can be done through the Register Online link on the Hopewell Valley Lacrosse website.
We are honored to continue this introductory program for young players founded by Chris and Brogann Sanderson (Bowden) of Pennington. Their love of the game and excitement for teaching the fun of lacrosse are core to the foundation of Hopewell Valley Lacrosse.
Please see the FAQ for equipment requirements, etc. In terms of gear, the safety of your children is our main priority.
